It’s Not Unusual . . .

Today is a most unusual day, because we have never lived it before; we will never live it again; it is the only day we have. Today can be a healthy unusual day for you–and for others–if you take time to give someone a smile . . .

Your smiles bring an unusual happy day . .

. . . to express a word of kindness . . . to lend a helping hand to someone in need . . . to write a note of gratitude . . . to give a word of encouragement to someone who is temporarily overcome with problems . . . to share a portion of your material possessions with others. ~ William Arthur Ward

Finding what unusual means to me was a challenge. As I went through my day thinking and pondering on the unusual, Bill Gates quote came to mind:

“Anyone who spends their life on a computer is pretty unusual.”

Hmmn.

Who among us hasn’t envied a cat’s ability to ignore the cares of daily life and to relax completely? ~Karen Brademeyer http://www.quotegarden.com/cats.html

What unusual places have you  found to relax?

Animal friends find the most unusual places to squeeze in some rest and recuperation time . . .

Got me an unusually comfortable place to rest . . . you should try it sometime!

Have you found anything unusual to read lately?

This young person demonstrates, you are never to young to start on your unusual book reading list!

“Mom, you should check out this cool, unusual reading material I found!”

Finally, the classic pop radio station kept playing, It’s Not Unusual by Tom Jones! This man entertains unusually well even at his age! Ohh, and check out his cool “grrrr” near the ending of his performance!! w00t!

“I feel a very unusual sensation–if it’s not indigestion, I think it must be gratitude.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

I am grateful to all you blogger friends who make my days unusually happy and filled with purpose!  With love, Sunshine!

  3. I love it! Also, I can’t believe Tom Jones is still performing.
He was a fav back in the day… many decades ago. Kudos to him! :-)

    • He looks like an amazing performer and a gracious person even at his age today. How he has kept his singing voice is also quite amazing! I think I’ll have to man-crush on him for awhile . . . hehe! :)

      • Yes, talk about maintaining our gifts… Good for him. I don’t know about that man crush idea. Have you read his bio? His wife might come looking for you… ;-)

      • Whoops! Just having fun Mrs. Tom Jones! Behind every great man is one great woman . . . as the old saying goes! Guess I’ll read his bio, Eliz. :)

    • It’s been a great Sunday Angelswhisper, and yes, Mr. Jones still has a wonderful voice after all these years. ~Abundant blessings to you this week!

  4. Funny as soon as I read your post title I thought of Tom Jones. I use to have a crush on him. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

    • Umm, I can see having a man crush when he was in his prime . . . he appeared to be a sizzling performer (and little has changed) in his younger years and very easy on the eye! Great talent! Thanks for sharing Francine! May you have a blessed week!

  6. LOL! I love that you added Tom Jones singing It’s Not Unusual! That was the first thing that came to my mom’s mind when I told her the photo challenge was “unusual” She’s been a huge fan of his…. I like him too! :)

    • I think a performer like Tom Jones can be considered a legend seeing how he has been able to maintain his voice and general image pretty much consistently up to this present day. What’s not to love about that, eh? Your mom knows a legend when she sees one! :) Thanks for sharing. Have a great week Andrea! :)

  7. Great post for the challenge! Love the quotes and your photos. Glad to see Tom Jones still performing and looking great! Have a wonderful blessed week, Sunshine. :-)
Thanks so much for the pingback.

    • Hey thanks for your visit and sharing your thoughts Changeversations! You brought an ‘unusually’ healthy and ‘happy’ feeling to my heart. May you also have a great and blessed week ahead. :)

    • *giggles* I know what you mean Cedric! Just watching it makes you want to see it again and again! Not unusual for a legendary performer. :) Thanks for the visit and conversation!
