Just Dance!
GO…
I once read to have a charmed life, you got to dance. Dance as though no one is watching you.
Just dance.
Free the heart from all the daily webs and break free from the chains that hold back our creativity…
Just dance.
donna summer’s last dance…george michaels’s father figure
put on the music and
just dance…
in the yard, on the street, heck, just dance anywhere and with anyone you meet.
slow dancing under the stars…how, oh, so very romantic–
dancing in the street with the first person you meet
just dance.
You say you can’t find the beat…just take the first step and close your eyes
dream the ballroom scene with a hundred dancers–
swirling and twirling–you and the beat…
beautiful long gowns and dancing shoes
just dance until your heart
is free.

Last Words
“Give me coffee, I’m going to write.” Olavo Bilac, Brazilian Poet’s last words before passing from this life. George Harrison, the former Beatles band member, told his family members, at his deathbed, “Love one another” while fighting cancer.
I know, not a favorite topic to bring up, but we all know about our own expiration date stamped into our lives–and only ONE person knows when the actual date is– so why not spend some time preparing our own unique last words?
Our last words.
What do we want to have as our own last words? (Hmmn, this might be a great free writing exercise!)
In order to help create unique last words, here is a list of a few famous recorded last words and the image we can leave behind:
Spiritual–
“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit…it is finished. ~ Jesus
Workaholic–
“…and now for a final word from our sponsor.” ~Charles Gussman
Longing–
“I’ll finally get to see Marilyn.” ~Joe DiMaggio on his former wife, Marilyn Monroe.
Bitterness–
“I don’t care if I live or die. Go ahead and kill me.” ~Jeffrey Dahmer
“Dammit…don’t you dare ask God to help me.” Joan Crawford
Drinking–
“One last drink, please.” ~Jack Daniel
“I should never have switched from Scotch to Martinis.” ~Humphrey Bogart
“Water.” ~Ulysses S. Grant
Eating–
“I just wish I had time for one more bowl of chili.” ~Kit Carson
Inspirational–
“Be inspired.” ~Final tweet by Heavy D, American Rapper
Random–
“OH, Wow. OH, Wow. OH, Wow.” ~Steve Jobs
“Surprise me.” Bob Hope
“Where is my clock?” Salvador Dali
“I hate to die twice. It’s so boring.” ~Richard Feyman
Gratitude–
“Ah, that tastes nice.” (After sipping a small glass of wine) “Thank you.” ~ Johannes Brahms
“Thank you for everything.” ~Blessed Father Carlo Gnocchi
Love–
“You be good. See you tomorrow. I love you.”
~Alex, the African Gray Parrot’s simple spoken last words to his handler, Dr. Irene Pepperberg , as she put Alex into his cage for the night. Alex passed away during the night.
It was his chosen, last words.
Got any chosen last words?
go out and screw up!!
you want to write but nothing comes
so many Words running wild upstairs
come on down, all of you Words!
(before i go out and screw up!!)
It’s an order, I said
march, march, march and do hurry!
We got finger tapping, anxious eyes–waiting–
waiting for all of you, Words, to tumble across this page
What is that you say?
anthony Robbins is here? You mean, the author of the great book, Awaken the Giant Within/actor/professional speaker/peak performance coach (whatever that is)–is really here??
Well, Words, do take your time coming down–let the master Robbin speak:
“Live life fully while you’re here.
Experience everything.
Take care of yourself and your friends.
Have fun, be crazy, be weird.
Go out and screw up!!
You’re going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process…”
wait, don’t go out and screw up just yet, there’s more of motivational speaker anthony Robbins below…
but, Oh, my shy little Words, see how you must work?
QUICK!!
Come down and have FuN UnDeR the SuN
Let go of your ego and be carefree and remember mr. Robbins is still here, so listen…
“Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes:
find the cause of your problems and eliminate it.
Don’t try to perfect;
just be an excellent example of being human.”
~anthony Robbins
when Words seem distant and far away
why not let your hair down
and simply write
all those reluctant Words you hold back
forget all writing rules just for a minute and let yourself
GO under the sun– with your Words– and have some fun…
then… Go out and screw up...
… just be an excellent example of being human.
me? i’m just having some fun today being crazy and weird
hey, i’m only human, right?
