Going Random on Friendships

I first want to tell you, this Weekly Photo Friendship Challenge has me reeling out-of-control! Do I want to write about boy-girl platonic friendships? Maybe share a haiku poem . . .

“Perhaps more than any other relationship, friendships between men and women are alive with ambiguity, contradiction, energy, paradox.”  ~Celia Allison Hahn

It is a photo challenge after all so, no, I change my mind.

How about animal friendships like an unlikely pair, the cat and dog.

Oh, and what about childhood friendships?  Thanks to the fabulous Facebook and other social media, we can now have friends from the turn of the century tumbling back into our lives and as you stare at the profile pictures, you can mumble under your breath, erm, exactly who were you way back when and how are we connected??

Facebook user:  “What?? You say we went to prom together?
Oh, hehe, I see. You look so . . . uh, different great I almost didn’t recognize you!!”

The worse type of friendships gone bad, of course, are NOT the ones where we fail to identify our friends after so many years of separation, but the ones that end in deep heartache despite how hard you try to keep the pain down to a bare minimum.

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then QUIT. There’s no point in being a damn fool about it.” ~W.C. Fields

Divorce is never easy–on anyone and especially on wounded hearts– but with a little reflection, and lots of quality time, some friendships can be restored and if not, the least we can do is send a wish for the other person to have all the best and for ourselves, move on to bigger and better things– like writing rambling thoughts about various forms of friendships on your blog page!

So, what about you? You got some random thought(s) on friendships floating around waiting to be heard?

In the Embrace of Kindheartedness

A pleasant companion on a journey is as good as a carriage.

Syrus

Having loving companions on any journey makes any travel lighter and easier to endure. I found so much comfort while viewing this gentle man looking as if his few possessions are probably worth more to him than any precious diamonds and gold.

Whatever struggles, set-backs, health problems or simply sadness we may stumble across in living, may we find contentment not in expensive material goods and activities but purely in the warm embrace of kindheartedness.

~Hugs,

Sunshine xoxo

Howdy! Chuckles Smiles with Sunshine!

Howdy! It's me, the one and only farm dog, Chuckles!!

Hey, hey, hey . . . Chuckles is in the house!

Yep, that’s me. Let’s make this short and sweet.

I’m the new staff writer with Simply Charming and my specialty is awards and blog games–especially tag games!  I’m not very fond of running, as you can see, I’m a rather big fellow so I just poke along until I tag you. Not today though, I’m supposed to cover an important award that came in recently .  Well, it’s been some days now and Sunshine just sent me an email and requested demanded I write the nomination speech since she  is sleeping at her desk has piles of stuff she pretends claims to be working on. I heard some nasty rumors around here that I spend too much time lazing around!

Hmmph.

I say, is this a crime???

So, a lovely fellow like myself takes a break once in a great while all day and barks all night! Is this a crime? I should say not. After all my humble ancestors, according to the Wikipedia, was a favorite  of  The Grand Dauphin and other members of the French aristocracy.

I say, I’ve earned the rights to snooze while others work. Right?

Right!

Enough about my heritage, the Great Pyrenees.  Because I’m known for my ease and efficiency of movement, the Award Goddess, AMIRA from MindBlur, has released to my care, the

Sunshine Award!!

**UPDATE** jUsT iN . . . Nizam from HappieBoyz sent over another Sunshine Award!!

Who knew right? Like, this is the most perfect award for my Sunshine. As we say in french, Merci beaucop, AMIRA from MindBlur and Nizam from HappieBoyz!! I like Amira’s free and easy style of writing and Nizam who loves to see everyone happy and content!

They are both, all heart! Woof! (translation: love you, Guys!)

Okay. Woof-woof!! (translation: love all you readers too!)

Now it’s time to look at  . . .

The Rules: *made to be broken*

1) Include the award Logo(s) in a post or in your blog.
2) Answer 10 question about your self.
3) Nominate 10 to 12 other fabulous bloggers.
4) Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blog, letting them know about the award.
5) Share the love and link the person who nominated you.

Come along now and inspect the questions, and since I’m doing all the work, my answers are first, then Sunshine’s answers follows!

Say it, “Chuckes, you are so smart . . . say it!”

That’s right! Okay, eyes . . .

The Questions:

  1. What is your Favorite color?  hmmn, mine would be rainbow but Sunshine likes golden-yellow (like we didn’t know, right?!)
  2. What is your favorite animal?  any animal I can lord over like goats, sheep, roosters, cats etc. and Sunshine loves horses.
  3. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?  i only get water . . . *sigh. but when it rains, i love to drink from the puddles. Yum!  Sunshine likes coffee . . . very dark roasted and super strong. Bleh!
  4. Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter?  we prefer both . . .
  5. What’s your passion?  haha, you know my passion is, ahem, snoozing lightly throughout the day.  Sunshine, she is a passion, especially when she brings me special dinners like leftover ribs! God love her!
  6. What’s your Favourite pattern?  What the hey? Favorite pattern?? My fave pattern is to bark all night, have breakfast, sleep til the sun goes down, eat a nourishing and energy packing dinner then start barking when Sunshine goes to sleep.   Sunshine’s fave pattern is telling me to shut it when I start barking singing.
  7. Do you prefer giving or getting presents?  I love giving huge loves but I also love doggy treats when they come by?     Sunshine loves both.
  8. What’s your favourite number?  two
  9. Favourite day of the week?  Any day except bath day.  Sunshine said any day except when she has to wash me. It breaks her back and I use tons of dog shampoo and conditioner to boot.                                                                                                                                                                                           Oh, excuuuse me for being so fat big and furry?!
  10. Favorite flower…

Miss Juanetta, the Housekeeper: On Nadine’s Predicament

It has come to my attention that Miss Juanetta has something important to talk with y’all about and she asked me to please, please,  have her on today. I told her you wouldn’t mind, so here she is.

Oh, hello my Lovelies!! I’ve been so busy picking up all the candy wrappers and droopy balloons leftover from Valentine’s Day.

Whew!

Image via Wikipedia

Listen my Lovelies, a sweet lady that I house clean for, apparently is having a little problem with her Facebook friend list. Well,  not a big problem, more like she needs reassurance she’s handling a situation properly. You see, she’s been contacted by not one, but two different “boy,” er, (now) man friends whom she knew from high school. The first boy, or should I say, man friend problem, resolved itself, but now,  Nadine, (that’s her name) tells me–while I’m cleaning around her place– that she needs my advice.

I tell her,Ma’am, you knows I’ma just the housekeeper with only cleaning on my mind. I don’t think I’m the best person you should be asking. I usually ask my Lovelies, because they are much wiser than me when I’m faced with a difficult decision.

Nadine grabbed my arm and begged, “Oh! Please ask your Lovelies what I should do, Miss Juanetta! You are the best housekeeper, so efficient and trustworthy. I know you, and they, can help me!!

Please??”

Of course, you know how Miss Juanetta has to help anybody who asks and once again my Lovelies, here’s Nadine’s predicament in her own words:

Thank you sooo much for helping me  . . . you see, the latest Facebook message came in from a boy I went out with only a few times way back in high school. Nothing really came about it and life went on with both of us, but now,  he’s messaged me with the first typical lines of insincere gibberish like, “Oh, haven’t seen you in years and wow, you still look great . . . blah, blah, blah.

Of course, I’ve been raised to be polite, so I returned the message with the same blah, blah, blah, except not the part about still looking great. We women are lucky, in that we have a whole make-up industry to put us into debt and it can also make some magic with looking real pretty–even after a million years has passed. Hehe

Anyway, I wrote a short note back to him and not expecting any problems, since I kept things general and very short on any personal details of my life. Basically, nothing to show anything romantic or I’m-in-the-market-for-love kinda thing. Because I’m not.

(You understand Miss Juanetta?)

Well, next message comes back with the ulterior reason for his message. At least I feel it’s kinda fishy. See what you think . . .

“I’m so glad you replied back to me! Blah, blah, been married for too many years now, you know, ups and downs of marriage. Right now, going through a rough patch, and don’t know if we can get through this one, blah, blah, but I’m going to try. Blah, blah, what about you? Married? Children? I still remember us in high school, blah, blah, I wonder if I did things differently how it may have turned up for us now.  Well, I don’t have an abundant amount of years left, blah, blah . . . not going to live the remaining years in a difficult, blah, blah, almost loveless marriage!”

That’s my story Miss Juanetta.  How do you think I should handle this?

Well, Nadine, it don’t seem too much a problem. I think.

You Lovelies see it as a problem? Should Nadine write a short note back to this friend letting him know how time has changed both of them. They both have their own families. Miss Juanetta is not quite sure if Nadine’s man-friend is just reaching out for support to help him get his marriage in better shape or looking for another person to escape the “love-less” marriage.

I told Nadine not to worry because Miss Juanetta has some wonderful friends who always give great advice. So, let me know. In the meantime, Miss Juanetta is on duty! Clean, clean, clean is the new motto!

Happy Mopping my Lovelies! And thanks Sunshine for letting me speak for Nadine! I owe you one!

Love, Miss Juanetta, the housekeeper.
