Just before sunrise, a soul awakens to the quiet within the home. Without distractions or demands, the only sounds heard are the slow rhythmic breathing that melts the soul to body on the yoga mat. (Well, perhaps an occasional purr from the dozing house cat. ) Stretching through the Sun Salutation and focusing the mind, every tight muscle begins to loosen with every deep breath. The heart centers itself down the path of relaxation and becomes awake and charged with energy from the sunrise. The day is almost ready to begin. In prayerful pose, the radiant energy expands out from the home to the world…

A bright memory shines from long ago…

The photograph fell onto the hard floor as Mia violently lost another hospital meal. Her chemo treatments made eating almost impossible.
As she feebly reached down to pick up the only memory she had of her brother and sister back home, a stabbing head pain seized control and brought her jerking back onto her pillow; tears flowed uncontrollably down her contorted face.
These painful episodes were coming more frequent and Mia felt the uninvited alien in her brain would soon be victorious.
Mia closed her eyes; her two younger siblings took up their instruments and Lights finally played her home.
