A Mother’s Secret Hope

Youth fades; love droops, the leaves of friendship fall;
A mother’s secret hope outlives them all.
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr

A mother’s secret hope is a child will grow to be wise and seek the path that keeps them growing closer to the Light of heaven.

Shh! Genius at work!

A mother’s secret hope is a child experiences all the joys in life that keeps them afloat even during the toughest of times.

Aargh! Everything is under control!

A mother’s secret hope is a child will keep their sense of wonder and never give up their search for who they are.

Who am I?

A mother’s secret hope is a child no matter how many falls and tumbles they take, they learn to get up gracefully and never give up following their dreams and aspirations.

Anyone notice the wrong shoes on the wrong feet??

A mother’s secret hope is while raising her child, whatever personal struggles and sacrifices she met in her own life, she kept it locked in her heart, and went on to find joy when her child found a love to share and now walks forward  building the next generation’s legacy of love.

Growing together in love . . .

my oldest daughter’s recent engagement announcement fulfilled one mother’s secret hope.

As a parent, what secret hopes did you keep in your heart and did your hopes become a reality for you?

What’s All the Fuss with Goodness?

”Seeking goodness and accepting life’s sacrifices can lead you into the right direction.”

Good parent(s) recognize living a life of sacrifice when raising their children can produce a righteous adult. It is good to meet the needs of a crying infant no matter how tired the parent is because this can lead to a well-balanced adult. A good parent also knows with proper feeding, clothing, sheltering, educating and loving, a child can grow up to be a well-adjusted, healthy and vibrant adult.

Good teachers know their lesson plans and lectures go way beyond the classroom because students who are most inspired to reach their full potential come from the teachers who sacrifice their lives to reach them. An example of this is from the movie Coach Carter.

Coach Carter

This teacher/coach desired good grades from his players and sacrificed everything in his life to make his students meet this goal. He knew it was the right thing to do. Overcoming all the obstacles, Coach Carter was able to raise, what school staff and parents tagged as underachievers, and put those students on the right path to success.

Good employers who work hard to get a good management staff and a solid company mission statements can have a successful business with good employees. I would think companies like

A McDonalds in a Toronto, Ontario, Canada Wal-...

McDonald’s,

A typical Wal-Mart discount department store i...

Wal-Mart and

Microsoft,

to name just a few, know by committing large amounts of time and resources in its managers and general staff, it is the right thing, and their success show this.

The Charming tip for today:

When it comes to knowing when you’re right, a simple look into the amount of goodness and sacrifice involved may show how right on target you may be.

Happy Writing,

Favorite Parent Awards…

I want to believe that I have one foot planted here on earth and the other securely

HEAVENplanted on the gold lined streets of Heaven.

Heaven means to be one with God.
Confucius

As some of my readers know, I see things usually in percentages. A weird habit that keeps me pondering and weighing on many things. For example, if you ask me who is my favorite parent, the percent calculator in my brain begins to tick and the answer spills out 50% in favor for my Daddy and 50% for Mommy and 100% in favor of my spiritual Father.

My earthly Daddy earned his 50% favorite parent award because:

  • his contribution of genetic material to produce me :) )

    Construction worker

  • his tireless effort to keep his family well fed, clothed, sheltered and his children well-educated and entertained–I am very grateful
  • his work ethics that included hard work and rarely ever using sick days off
My earthly Mommy earned her 50% favorite parent award because:
  • her contribution of genetic material to produce me and 9 months in a private suite– ;)
  • her lifelong effort to keep her family well fed, clothed and trained in proper manners and self-control

    That's My Mommy

  • her motherly love that protected and nurtured and had no limit…..
The big 100% favorite parent award will always be given to the Master Creator of all things because, well, without Him where would we be?

Heaven visited me
